Survivor Justice Outrage!
Gang-Rape Left Unprosecuted
ABC News has recently reported on a case from 2007 where three brave college-athlete women intervened at a De Anza Community College party to stop the gang-rape of an unconscious 17-year-old girl. Click here to read the article about the incident.
   Despite having three eye-witnesses this case was not prosecuted by the district attorney's office citing the victim's lack of memory as a major road block. This 'excuse' is often used in cases where a victim is severely intoxicated or even unconscious. PAVE believes strongly that alcohol-facilitates sexual assaults should be vigorously prosecuted, especially in a case where such strong physical evidence and eye-witness testimony exists.
    To voice your opinion, let the Santa Clara District Attorney Dolores Carr know that their should be no excuse for failing to prosecute the young men who so horribly violated this young woman (sample letters and talking points available from: SurvivorJustice@pavingtheway.net).

PAVE Day at WNBA

The WNBA team Chicago Sky partnered with PAVE for PAVE Day in June featuring PAVE's Angela Rose as Co-Captain for the game. PAVE supporter April Rose, who is a model and TV personality, was there to throw the first ball out. Working with Comcast Sportsnet and JRock, a powerful PSA was produced and shown at the game! We received great feedback from the experience and we shattered the silence of sexual violence!

Domestic Violence Claims a Life
Ways to Support

This June

Lavendar Power announced that a sister, Amy Ross, had passed away. She and her children were victims of domestic violence and she died following a fire set to her house by her husband. The organization is asking for support of her children at this time and have set up a web site set for donation to the Amy Ross and Children Fund.

Child Psychiatrist Dr. William Ayers - Charged with Molesting Boys for Years!

A note to PAVE from journalist Victoria Balfour ...

I am a New York City journalist who basically broke the case of a child psychiatrist named Dr. William Ayres in California who had been molesting young boys for four decades. I turned over my information on the victims, which they used for the search warrant to seize the doctor's records. When Dr. Ayres was arrested, the San Francisco Chronicle said that had it not been for my investigative efforts, Dr. Ayres would not have been arrested,

The trial of Dr. Ayres is underway. I am not a witness for the prosecution and was told by the DA's office that I would not be a witness for the defense. But when I arrived to cover the trial for a newspaper, the prosecutor was hostile to my presence and colluded with Ayres' defense attorney to keep me out. It's been a nightmare. The prosecution would not have this case had it not been for me and now they have betrayed me by not wanting me in the courtroom.
